New Design Bootcamp Provides Hands-On Experience for Career-Based Learning

BATON ROUGE, LA (November 16, 2021) – LSU Online & Continuing Education and Springboard, an online learning platform preparing students for in-demand careers through comprehensive, mentor-led programs, announce a partnership to offer the LSU UI/UX, or User Interface and User Experience, Design Bootcamp. The partnership aims to prepare students for high-demand careers in the UI/UX field through a mixture of coursework, real-world industry design projects and best-in-class mentor-led learning, career support and job placement services.

With thousands of graduates to date, the program will prepare students for a career in one of the fastest growing fields in just nine months, as referenced in the Cognizant Jobs of the Future Index.

Students who enroll in the LSU UI/UX Design Bootcamp, which is powered by Springboard, explore all stages of the UI/UX design process from design thinking to ideating, sketching and more. The curriculum consists of videos, articles, hands-on projects and career-related coursework. Notably, students also complete a ??40-hour industry design project where they work with real companies to execute concrete deliverables for the business, affording students hands-on experience and an opportunity to build a portfolio.

Students who have completed these programs to-date have received job offers from highly coveted companies including Google, Facebook, Dell, Lyft, IBM and more. The courses will be open to the public, and prospective students do not need to be enrolled currently at LSU or have previous experience to qualify. Upon completion of the programs, students will earn a digital badge co-branded with LSU and Springboard to share their qualifications online, and access to the program’s career support and job placement services.
