Course Description

Increasingly we can see a professional or managerial career as nothing more nor less than a series of projects. As you progress throughout your career, you will do one project after another. This is why building your core project management knowledge and skills is critical!

Major topics presented include:
  • Understand the key Project Management Institute’s concepts of project management and leadership (e.g. The 5 Process Groups, ITTOs, Work Breakdown Structure, etc.)…and how they apply in the “real” world
  • Develop solid communication skills to share visions, ideas, goals, and expectations with all major project stakeholders and project team members.
  • Understand the nine key project subplans that should be used when managing or participating in projects (e.g. Scope, Budgets, Schedules, Resources, etc.)
  • Create and use project risk planning and mitigation strategies.
  • Understand the different techniques used to estimate project costs and schedules
  • Use Earned Value Management Concepts to oversee project estimating and cost management to achieve budget objectives
