Course Description

Lake Martin is a favorite destination for Bird Watching or Birding for tourists from all over the world. This flooded forest is home to 205 different species of birds and is one of the largest nesting areas of wading birds. You will see many species of birds, such as Borrowed Owls, Great-horned Owls, Pileated Woodpeckers, Anhinga, Cormorants, Wood Ducks, Yellow (and Black) crowned Night Herons, & The Great Blue Heron. Other wildlife may be seen such as nutria, frogs, snakes, and best of all alligators. Will depart at 8am from St. Francisville Council on Aging. Registering through this website only puts you on the list to go.  It does not register you for the tour at Lake Martin.  See notes below.
