Course Description

France, one of the most respected wine regions in the world, is an essential region to beginning one’s wine education. From production style to grapes grown there, their wine-making practices have been uniquely influential around the world. In our first class, we will explore the wines of Burgundy, focusing on their historic production of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. In our second class, we will be tasting white and red wines from Bordeaux, another prestigious region that has inspired winemakers for centuries. We will sample six wines per class, discussing the winemaker, technical details, and tasting notes for each. Alongside the wines, we will serve a cheese and charcuterie board with olives, crackers, and fruit.
