OLROGUE - Rogues Under Sail
Course Description
VIKINGS in the North Sea! PIRATES in the Caribbean! Villains to all nations! But were they really just sea-borne raiders, bandits, and plunderers? In this lecture series, we’ll discuss their culture, ships, weapons, motivation, tactics as well as their victories and defeats. We’ll delve into the life and adventures of some of the most notorious Norse and Anglo- American sea-rovers: Saint Olaf, Harald Harada, Gudrid, Leif Eriksson, Francis Drake, Henry Morgan, Henry Avery, William Kidd, Blackbeard, Black Bart Roberts, Charles Vane, Jean Lafitte and Anne Bonny. As a bonus we will look at the story of the Viking’s discovery and colonization of the new world. Type: Lecture Only class.

Continuing Education Programs
Continuing Education (CE) courses and programs offered online through LSU Online & Continuing Education typically include a combination of lecture and discussion as well as reading and writing assignments.
