OLBR - Baton Rouge: A History in Five Maps (1185-1908)
Course Description
In this course we will be looking at five Sanborn Fire Insurance Maps of Baton Rouge that were taken from 1885 to 1908. These maps contain a wealth of historic information, such as building layout, materials, locations, historic addresses and street names, and the locations of businesses. Along the way we will be learning more about Baton Rouge at the turn of the century and how the city has changed over time. Type: Discussion and Lecture.
