Course Description

This class will introduce the weaving of a functional basket tote with a reinforced bottom and built-in handles. It will focus on weaving techniques and use of materials, including the use of color and decorative techniques. The baskets will be woven using commercially available reed from the core of a tropical vine. The skills learned can be a foundation for future basket weaving projects. Materials will be purchased by the instructor, but a list of suggested basic equipment will be provided to participants by the instructor. Type: Hands-on.
