Course Description

Louise Destrehan Harvey was a businesswoman in nineteenth century New Orleans, Louisiana. She was intelligent, driven, and had to function in a man’s world. Her tenacity carried her to achieve many successes that are felt today. Louise Harvey is a direct descendant of Jean Noel Destrehan, an early decision maker in Colonial Louisiana. Destrehan Plantation is the oldest plantation in the lower Mississippi Valley and will be the lecture site for Louise Destrehan Harvey. The Indigo Café (on site) is available for lunch afterwards. Type: Lecture Only.
