About the Fairs
Since the 1950s, LSU Online & Continuing Education has hosted two exciting science competitions each spring for Louisiana's future scientists and engineers:
Region VII Science & Engineering Fair
Date: March 2-4, 2026
Region VII is the designated region for the following parishes: East Baton Rouge, West Baton Rouge, East Feliciana, West Feliciana, Pointe Coupee, Iberville, and Ascension parishes.
If you are not in one of the parishes listed above, contact us so we can help you find your designated regional fair.
Louisiana State Science & Engineering Fair (LSEF)
Date: April 7-9, 2026
This fair welcomes first- and second-place winners from regional fairs across the state to compete in the heart of Louisiana: Baton Rouge.
The Region VII and Louisiana State Science & Engineering Fairs allow students in Junior (6th-8th grade) and Senior (9th-12th grade) divisions to showcase their research in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
These fairs provide a hands-on learning experience beyond the classroom. Students build confidence, sharpen their critical thinking and presentation skills, and collaborate with mentors and peers while learning to compete with integrity.
In just 1.5 days, each fair showcases the energy and innovation of Louisiana's outstanding students
