Have Questions?

Construction management is the business side of any construction project. Construction managers have the business skills, experience, and education to oversee the execution of complex construction work in the private or public sector. They also can seek diverse careers as business owners, field engineers, cost estimators, estates managers, consultants, project managers, facilities managers, etc. There are over 30 different career paths in construction for this type of professional.

The foundational curriculum for this certificate is for beginners, those who would like to see if this career is for them. It has been organized for those with or without a college degree who would like an overview of the profession along with an understanding of construction materials and methods and how these relate to reading a set of construction drawings.

Upon completion of the three-course series, students will receive a digital badge from LSU Online & Continuing Education that can be used for online résumés, personal websites or social media. In addition, these are college courses and can be fully transferred into LSU’s Online Bachelor of Science in Construction Management (BSCM). These eight-week courses also can be used for continuing education units/credits required by some certifications and licenses.
