A professional facilities management serves as an interdisciplinary business function with the objective of coordinating demand and supply of facilities and services within public and private organizations. The term “Facility” (pl. facilities) means something that is built, installed or established to serve a purpose, which, in general, is every “Tangible asset that supports an organization.” Examples are real estate property, buildings, technical infrastructure, (HVAC), lighting, transportation, IT-services, furniture, Custodial, grounds, and other user-specific equipment and appliances. FM is the practice of coordinating the physical workplace with the people and work of the organization. This MicroCred integrates the principles of business administration, the behavioral and engineering sciences.
Upon completion of the three-course series (see list below), students will receive a digital badge from LSU Online & Continuing Education that can be used for online résumés, personal websites or social media. In addition, these are college courses and can be fully transferred into LSU’s Online Bachelor of Science in Construction Management (BSCM). These eight-week courses also can be used for continuing education units/credits required by some certifications and licenses.

Requirements: This online program requires access to a computer with internet access, email, an Internet browser (Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox recommended), MS PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat Reader.
Format: The courses in this certificate are regular three-credit hour LSU courses. Each online course runs on a term of eight weeks. You must complete all three courses to earn the certificate and receive the digital badge.
LSU’s Certificate program is your opportunity to gain applicable knowledge and skills in a convenient format online. With each completion of a certificate, you will receive a digital badge to publicize your achievement in your specialization. This program is administered by LSU, but admission to the University is not required. Additionally, the courses you take can provide credit to start you on the path toward a degree or your professional goals.
