Course Description

This semester we will view and discuss three films that are instructor favorites but not previously shown in the course. Twentieth Century is a prototypical screwball comedy starring John Barrymore and Carole Lombard as a Broadway producer and his former protégé in a battle of wits, professionally and romantically. Alfred Hitchcock’s thriller Suspicion stars Cary Grant as a charming playboy who may or may not be plotting to murder his heiress wife (Joan Fontaine). The musical comedy Swing Time was a vehicle for stars Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers and often considered their best work together. Films will be introduced by the instructor and followed with instructor-led insights and discussion. Type: Discussion and Lecture.

NOTE: Course fee includes dinner, served during the viewing. Students will be emailed the entrée choices two weeks before the class starts. The OLLI office will compile the choices and send them to the restaurant before the class starts.
