Course Description

This course provides an overview of the business of digital twins, including establishing a digital twin strategy, financial accounting, legal considerations, and information systems. During this course, students will be provided the basics for developing a strategic plan for digital twins, including identifying assets to be twinned, criteria for twinning, and ranking candidates for twinning. Financial accounting considerations in performing a cost benefit analysis to measure the value of twinning will also be discussed. Additionally, students will learn about legal issues around contracts and intellectual property rights. Risks related to digital twin data and information systems associated with digital twin creation and implementation will also be presented.
