Course Description

Join us to learn folk dances from around the world! Participants will be captivated by the beauty of folk music as they discover dances from countries such as
Bulgaria, Romania, Macedonia, Israel, Ireland, Russia, Albania, Hungary, Wales, Ukraine, Scotland, and Greece. Most dances are performed in a circle or open-circle
formation, and no partners are needed. The steps are generally simple, with some rhythms following the familiar 4/4 or waltz time, while others might be unique
yet delightful. Please wear comfortable shoes (smooth soles work best) and bring water to stay hydrated! Benefits of joining include improved balance, social
connections, and lots of fun. To quote a folk dance newsletter: “This may be habit-forming. Side effects can include flushed cheeks, a sparkle in the eye, a swelling
heart, a bounce in your step, and an increased pulse.”

Type: Hands-on.
