Course Description

Does your dog take you for a walk verses you going on a nice walk? Does your dog sit when commanded? Will your dog come to you when called? Will your dog stay when commanded? In this class, you will be trained so you can train your dog to be a better canine citizen. Obedience training involves training the owner as much as the dog. The foundation for instruction comes from AKC (American Kennel Club). The basic exercises are heel on leash, sitting when commanded, recall (come to you) when commanded, stand for examination, and walk a figure 8 to practice walking in a crowd. The following is necessary for the class: a slip collar or martingale collar (buckle collars or harnesses are not used for this type of training), a 6 ft leash, a 20 ft leash (for use in recall training), a water bowl and water, poop bags to clean up after your dog and a treat bag with treats. Type: Hands-on.
