Course Description

Since the early 20th century, the popularity of recorded music (and later radio) brought stardom to vocal groups and individual singers from a variety of musical genres. In this class we will use recordings and video clips to highlight a number of these artists from the 1920s through the 1980s. From country and bluegrass to doo-wop and rock & roll, from big band to Louisiana artists, we will play a lot of music! Toe tapping, humming, and singing along with the lyrics are allowed! Type: Hands-on.
